How to Use Microsoft Word
1. Opening Microsoft Word

Click the Start menu on your computer

Type Microsoft Word in the search bar

Click the Word app to open it

Select Blank Document

2. Understanding the Screen
When Word opens, you will see:

Ribbon (top toolbar with tabs like Home, Insert, Layout)

Document area (white page where you type)

Cursor (blinking line showing where text will appear)
3. Typing Text

Click anywhere on the blank page

Start typing using your keyboard

Press Enter to move to the next line
4. Formatting Text
To change how your text looks:
Make text bold, italic, or underlined:

Highlight the text

Go to the Home tab

Click:

B for bold

I for italic

U for underline

Change font and size:

Choose a font (like Arial or Calibri)

5. Aligning Text

7. Opening an Existing Document

Insert a picture:

Click the Insert tab

Choose an image from your computer

Insert a table:

Go to Insert → Table

Choose the number of rows and columns
9. Using Copy, Cut, and Paste

Copy (Ctrl + C): makes a duplicate

Cut (Ctrl + X): removes text

Paste (Ctrl + V): places text
